Columbia, SC
The University of South Carolina’s Koger Center for the Arts constructed its Plaza Stage with a clear purpose: to convert an empty lawn in downtown Columbia into an inviting communal space for joy and connection. Levitt AMP Columbia Music Series brings that vision to life by presenting free concerts in a natural amphitheater setting where audiences gather on the grassy hillside to experience the joy of free, live music in community.
Located between the Congaree Vista cultural district and Columbia’s Main Street, and accessible by major bus routes and walkable neighborhoods, the Plaza Stage offers a rare outdoor arts space in the center of this city of roughly 145,000 people. Featuring artists across a wide range of musical genres, Levitt AMP Columbia is supporting surrounding restaurants and retailers and elevating the area as a destination for arts and community life that brings together students, families and neighbors.
Presented by the Koger Center for the Arts at the University of South Carolina, a nonprofit enriching Columbia and the Midlands by presenting transformative arts experiences that inspire excitement and passion in the arts while creating a sense of community, in partnership with the City of Columbia, USC Department of Student Life, One Columbia for Arts & Culture, Columbia Chamber, Congaree Vista Guild, The Jasper Project, Black Nerd Mafia, South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs, WUSC FM & HD1 Columbia.
