Waco, TX
The culturally-rich yet formerly disinvested Elm Avenue corridor was a major stop on the Chitlin Circuit for Black entertainers during segregation. The music series is advancing historic pride and future aspirations of a region poised for revitalization while promoting an equitable and thriving cultural community for all of its nearly 139,000 residents. The first Levitt AMP Waco Music Series introduces the Bridge Street Plaza as a gathering destination, celebrates the diverse musical genres central to East Waco’s identity, and amplifies pride for the community’s rich cultural assets.
Presented by Creative Waco, a local arts agency that grows and supports a thriving cultural and creative community in Waco and McLennan County, Texas, in partnership with the City of Waco and Keep Waco Loud.
