Waco, TX
The culturally-rich yet formerly disinvested Elm Avenue corridor was a major stop on the Chitlin Circuit for Black entertainers during segregation. The music series is advancing historic pride and future aspirations of a region poised for revitalization while promoting an equitable and thriving cultural community for its nearly 139,000 residents. The Levitt AMP Waco Music Series introduces Bridge Street Plaza as a gathering destination, celebrates the diverse musical genres central to East Waco’s identity, and amplifies pride for the community’s rich cultural assets.
Presented by Creative Waco, a local arts agency that grows and supports a thriving cultural and creative community in Waco and McLennan County, Texas.
