Ocala, FL
Since 2017, the Levitt AMP Ocala Music Series, presented by the Marion Cultural Alliance, has inspired an exciting new chapter for the historic Martin Luther King Jr. Recreational Complex’s Webb Field, a once-forgotten three-acre green space that has now become a vital part of West Ocala’s cultural and economic development. Home to just over 60,000 residents, Ocala has witnessed an improvement to park infrastructure and community involvement, as well as the creation of a cultural corridor supporting the historic Ocala Black History Mural, a prized local gem. The 2023 series is continuing to deepen local partnerships to create inclusive multi-layered arts experiences that amplify community leaders’ efforts to create ‘One Ocala’ after decades of disinvestment in the city’s historically Black neighborhoods.
Presented by Marion Cultural Alliance, Inc., whose mission is to champion, convene and create opportunities for artists and arts organizers, in partnership with the City of Ocala’s Cultural Arts and Sciences Division.
