Pasadena, CA
Memorial Park holds a special place in Pasadena’s cultural history as the former home of Levitt Pavilion Pasadena, where—from 2003 through 2017—free concerts at the restored, WPA-era bandshell drew more than 75,000 people each summer, bringing renewed vitality to a park that for years had been largely underused. Nearly a decade later, Levitt concerts in Memorial Park are once again welcoming audiences from across this community of 135,000 and the greater Los Angeles metro area, demonstrating the powerful social and economic impact of free, high-caliber live music in public space.
The Levitt VIBE Pasadena Music Series features locally rooted programming that mirrors the city’s vibrant, diverse identity—from Latin and African American traditions to Asian Pacific and Armenian influences. In the wake of the 2025 Eaton Fire, free outdoor concerts offer opportunities for shared experience and connection, particularly in Northwest Pasadena, where economic disparities and recovery challenges are more deeply felt. With music once again filling this historic Levitt site, Memorial Park is reclaiming its identity as a place where Pasadena gathers, remembers, and moves forward together.
Presented by Pasadena Recreation and Parks Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding access to and strengthening the sustainability of parks, trails, green space, and recreation programs to advance the health and wellness of Pasadena youth, families, and community members. Produced in partnership with the City of Pasadena.
