Jackson, MS
Mississippi holds a central place in the story of American music—from the birth of the blues and gospel to the roots of rock ’n’ roll. The Levitt AMP Jackson Music Series builds on this artistic legacy by expanding access to free, high-quality live performances beneath the shade of Smith Park’s noble oak trees.
Once a centerpiece of downtown activity, Smith Park fell into disuse in recent years. The park’s recent revitalization has restored its natural beauty into what is now a welcoming space for people of all ages and backgrounds. Levitt AMP Jackson brings the park further to life with free, outdoor concerts showcasing local and regional talent spanning a range of genres. Located near local businesses and cultural landmarks—including the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and Mississippi Museum of Art—the series invites the city’s roughly 150,000 residents and visitors alike to rediscover the heart of the city and reinforces Jackson’s place as a musical and cultural mecca.
Presented by Downtown Jackson Partners, which advances economic development, safety, cleanliness, and quality of life in downtown Jackson, in partnership with the Mississippi Symphony Orchestra, Central Mississippi Blues Society, Mississippi Mass Choir, and Raphael Semmes.
