NeighborWorks Blackstone River Valley, the nonprofit presenting Levitt AMP Woonsocket, and the organization behind the redevelopment of three historic mill buildings in the Millrace District of downtown Woonsocket, has secured a $150,000 grant from the Main Street Rhode Island Streetscape Improvement Fund and $295,000 from the Site Readiness Program.

Valley Breeze reporter Corey Plant sat down with Meg Rego, Director of Resource Development and Communications at NeighborWorks, who shared that the goal with this funding is to continue shaping the area as a cultural corridor that draws foot traffic to small businesses and connects key public spaces like River Island Art Park, home of the Levitt AMP Woonsocket Music Series. “It’s great to see this kind of investment in Woonsocket,” said Rego. “We’re incredibly appreciative that these funds were available to help us keep going.”

Rego also shared that the Levitt AMP Woonsocket attendence is up by 20% this summer.
