
Argus Leader sat down with Levitt Shell Sioux Falls President & CEO Nancy Halverson to reflect on the venue’s remarkable growth over her seven-year tenure—including the nonprofit’s $5M expansion campaign, which is set to drastically expand the organization’s programming and administrative spaces and amenities by 2026, accommodating enthusiastic demand for year-round, high-caliber arts and cultural programming and reaffirming the role of Levitt venues as an anchor of community life.
“The goal is a diverse audience, so I want as much diversity on stage as I can possibly get,” Halverson said. “I am looking for artists who represent our community so that any child who comes to the stage can look up and see somebody who looks and sounds like them. That is how we will build community through music.”
