This July, Selma Times Journal reporter Nichlos Cutrell captured the exciting opening night of the Levitt AMP Selma music series, which kicked off with the Bridge City Jazz Fest. Lydia Chatmon of the Black Belt Community Foundation, presenter of the Levitt AMP Selma Music Series, shared how the 2026 season will continue to strengthen the Selma community and generate economic impact for local businesses.

“This is not just about the music and the free opportunity for our community to come together… [Levitt AMP Selma] supports our local economy, and most of the vendors that are here are all based in Selma,” said Chatmon. “We absolutely invite small businesses and other nonprofits to join in so we can all work together to make this a greater and greater opportunity for our community.”

The Levitt AMP Selma music series continues through October 24.
