Scandia Heritage Alliance—awarded a three-year grant from the Levitt Family Foundation to present the Levitt AMP Scandia Music Series, starting this summer—has been selected as one of 25 communities nationwide to receive a 2026 T-Mobile Hometown Grant. This highly competitive grant program provides nonprofits up to $50,000 in funds to build, rebuild, or refresh community spaces that strengthen local connections in small towns across America.

The Hometown Grant adds to growing excitement and momentum in Scandia, as the community prepares to break ground this spring on Water Tower Barn Scandia—a shovel-ready arts and heritage center that reflects more than a decade of volunteer leadership, strong public-sector partnership, and growing institutional investment.

Once complete in 2027, the revitalized Water Tower Barn will serve as the home of Levitt AMP Scandia, providing the town’s roughly 4,000 residents a welcoming, inclusive gathering place that draws visitors into the village center while celebrating the rural character that defines this community.

“We are thrilled that T-Mobile is joining us at a pivotal moment of fundraising for Water Tower Barn Scandia arts and heritage center, helping us cross the finish line to create a vibrant community space that will bring people together through music, theater, history, and arts,” said Susan Rodsjo, Board Chair of the Scandia Heritage Alliance. “Together with support from the Levitt Family Foundation, this investment reflects a powerful synergy of national placemaking partners—activating both the space and the programming that will bring it to life.”
