Levitt concerts brought joy to more than 750,000 during the spring, summer, and fall of 2023, fostering human connections and creating pride of place within communities big and small, rural and urban—from the West Coast, Southwest, Midwest, and Appalachia to the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Deep South, and Alaska and Hawaii. This year the Levitt Foundation was proud to support over 40 nonprofits in towns and cities nationwide, collectively presenting 650+ free outdoor concerts in public spaces at Levitt venues and Levitt AMP concert sites.

Programming presented on Levitt stages was diverse and dynamic: as always, emerging talent to award-winning national and international artists in a broad range of music genres brought audiences to their feet with sonic, genre-fusing amalgamations; rising local creatives also delighted audiences through song and dance; and, true to the Levitt network’s commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, this year’s concert season featured numerous cultural celebrations reflective of the community and shining a light on the music and traditions that have helped shape the America we know. Also on numerous Levitt stages in 2023 was the annual Levitt National Tour, which featured GRAMMY-winning group La Santa Cecilia as the headliner, who energized audiences at five different venues with their infectious blend of cumbia, rock, bolero, tango, ranchera, and bossa nova.

“Throughout 2023, it was an absolute joy to watch each Levitt venue and concert site build community through music—whether as a long-time partner or a new grantee,” said Levitt Foundation CEO Sharon Yazowski. “Year after year, we are in awe of our nonprofit partners’ creativity, passion, and dedication to creating vibrant and welcoming destinations that are a holistic reflection of their community and bring people of all backgrounds together through the power of free, live music. As the Levitt Foundation ramps up our giving, we look forward to expanding our support of free concerts in more communities across the country.”
