Fresh Rocky Mountain air, shared learnings, and a sense of community invigorated 70 members of the Levitt network this past fall, who traveled to Denver for the 2024 Levitt Group Site Visit in September. Over a weekend in the Mile High City, staff and board members from Friends of Levitt nonprofits from across the country forged authentic connections while experiencing community through music in action, Levitt Pavilion Denver style. Scroll down to see select photos from this impactful weekend.
Attendees gathered from Levitt Pavilion Arlington, Levitt Pavilion Dayton, Levitt Pavilion Los Angeles, Levitt Shell Sioux Falls, Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks, and developing Levitt venues in Houston and San Jose, Calif., as well as several members from the Levitt Foundation team.
The weekend included a backstage tour of Levitt Denver led by Executive Director Meghan McNamara, Deputy Director Andy Thomas, and Director of Marketing and Audience Development Jessi Whitten, along with an in-depth presentation on the history, operations, and impact of the venue, which opened in 2017, as well as plans for the upcoming year. To get a sense of the region overall, the group enjoyed a walking tour of Lower Downtown Denver, a breathtaking visit to Red Rocks Park, time in the mountain town of Golden, Colorado, and group meals at local restaurants.
A Levitt Group Site Visit wouldn’t be complete without some incredible free outdoor concerts, and attendees were treated to two unique shows. On Friday, the group enjoyed the Viva Southwest Mariachi Fest featured Mariachi Estelares de Colorado (Colorado’s All-State Mariachi Ensemble), a Grito Contest with audience members, and Levitt network favorite and past Levitt National Tour headliners, La Santa Cecilia, who got audiences up and dancing. On Saturday night, a bit of light rain nevertheless attracted metal fans and their families to Levitt Denver’s annual Rez Metal night, featuring five native metal bands: Under Exile, Ocean Harvest, Existence AD, Graves of the Monuments, and Iron Tusk, who drove to Denver from Canada to perform. This show got the audience on their feet in a different way—a mosh pit—and several Group Site Visit attendees joined in the fun!
After this dynamic Group Site Visit, attendees left feeling inspired as they look to the future of their music series, and we can’t wait to see the ways this networking and collaboration will lead to more energy and community in 2025 and beyond!
