The Levitt Foundation is pleased to offer a series of conversations with Anne Sturm on the best practices of artist booking.

 

Join Levitt network Artist Booking & Routing Consultant Anne Sturm as she shares updates on network artist rosters and routing. You’ll have the opportunity to ask all your artist booking questions—from negotiating talent fees and contract terms to routing, plus any booking challenges you may be encountering. During this quarterly series, Anne will provide ongoing learning for booking and presenting artists, from emerging talent to seasoned performers.

Anne Sturm has been booking and managing venues and festivals for over 10 years. Most recently as the Senior Buyer for ArtsQuest and Executive Director of Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks in Bethlehem, Pa., she oversaw nearly 800 performances annually and played major planning and project management roles in festivals garnering over 1 million guests annually. Over the past 10+ years, Anne has booked and promoted small to large scale concerts from emerging acts like Valerie June, Yasmine Williams, and Danielle Ponder to established artists like Ja Rule, Ashanti, Monica, La India, John Legend, Wynton Marsalis, Graham Nash, Diana Krall, Tony Bennett, and hundreds more. Anne continues to work with communities near and far as she books and consults various-sized venues in the North and Southeast regions of the United States.

The Art of Making An Offer  

This 60-minute session features a chance for participants to craft an artist offer in collaboration with Anne Sturm, covering the essential aspects to consider when submitting an offer—including effective research methods, negotiation strategies, and the key components to add in your formal offer. Participants will have the opportunity to ask Anne questions and share their experiences with developing artist offers.
