The days are getting longer, the air is getting warmer, and all across the country communities are getting ready to present another exhilarating season of free music under the stars. This year, more than 650+ free Levitt concerts will be presented in 41 towns and cities—strengthening our social fabric, amplifying local pride, injecting joy into underused public spaces and fostering more equitable, healthy and thriving communities. Stretching from Alaska to North Carolina, Florida to Vermont, and numerous places in between, Levitt venues and AMP sites are located in 31 states, and this year, the national Levitt network has expanded to include 15 nonprofits presenting a Levitt AMP Music Series for the first time!

Next month also marks the return of the Levitt National Tour, featuring the captivating, high-energy music of GRAMMY-winning La Santa Cecilia. Veterans of Levitt stages including Los Angeles, Denver and Arlington, the acclaimed band combines elements of cumbia, rock, bolero, bossa nova, jazz, tango, and ranchera into an electrifying and signature style. Marking its 15th anniversary this year as a band, La Santa Cecilia will stop at six Levitt venues throughout the summer, so mark your calendars!

In addition to presenting GRAMMY-winning artists and acclaimed, emerging talent in a broad range of music genres, Levitt venues and AMP sites are also planning a range of cultural celebrations and events while deepening partnerships to more authentically engage communities that comprise their population. Levitt Pavilion Arlington, for example, is presenting DreamFest on April 29 as part of its opening weekend festivities, a citywide celebration sponsored by the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau that will feature Tejano and other Latin music as well as vendors and kids activities. In Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Levitt at the Falls will play host to the daylong Festival of Cultures on June 10: a partnership with refugee services nonprofit the LSS Center for New Americans & Multicultural Center, the event will encompass music, art and educational opportunities reflecting Sioux Falls’ cultural diversity. On July 1, Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks will present the 2nd Annual One Earth ReggaeFest, in partnership with the BIPOC-led Promise Neighborhoods of Lehigh Valley, to celebrate the global impact of reggae music. And in Denver’s Ruby Hill Park, Levitt Pavilion Denver will inaugurate the All My Relations Celebration on August 10, a partnership with the Denver Indian Center to honor Indigenous artistry through music, dance, and art.

An enjoyable evening of music and community at Levitt AMP Whitesburg

Levitt AMP communities have likewise planned dynamic programming to further expand their reach and broaden the overall impact of their music series. Levitt AMP Ocala, which kicked off its series with an April 14 show featuring Veronica Lewis, will celebrate Black Music Month throughout June, with each concert featuring a Black artist, and will host a Juneteenth Celebration featuring Afro-Cuban artist Yusa. In Wisconsin, Levitt AMP Sheboygan will help bring more exposure to local musicians, with its “Get the Gig” battle of the bands contest giving homegrown acts a chance to compete for an opening slot at one of its summer concerts. Levitt AMP Stevens Point will add a layer of well-being to its series by offering yoga on the lawn before all concerts. And Levitt AMP Whitesburg in Kentucky will close its series the last weekend in July with a special event that recognizes the community’s resilience in recovering from last summer’s devastating floods.

And that’s just a sampling of the amazing lineups, exciting programming, cultural experiences and opportunities for joy and social connection the upcoming concert season has in store. Collectively, Levitt venues and AMP sites are fueling the movement to build equitable, healthy and thriving communities through the power of free, live music at the intersection of public space and community building, reflecting Levitt’s mission to strengthen the social fabric of America.
